Who we are…
We are Lucas & Heidi Randall and our farm is named after our border collies Bright & Marvel. They love living on the farm & helping with chores and we love seeing how much they enjoy participating in raising animals with us.
We purchased this hobby farm in 2006 just before getting married. We've both always had a love for animals & a desire to share our passion with our community. At the time, we had 8 dogs & I (Heidi) was very active competing in dog sports all over the country so we started out small with a horse & some ducks. It didn't take long for that to grow into chickens, a donkey, goats, sheep, quail, & now a few pigs. People in dog sports work hard to feed their dogs fresh food to keep them competing at their best and I began sharing our eggs & goat milk with friends. As more people became interested, it became clear this would be a good way to help pay some of the expenses for keeping these animals. In 2024 we got our pet food license, became NPIP certified with the state, & I put a LOT of time into proving & improving our breeding programs & products for sale.
When I take interest in something, I have a way of becoming very fixated on learning everything I can about it. With the goats & sheep this led me to start learning everything I could about their ideal conformation, pedigrees, DHIA milk testing, & most recently- making goat milk soaps! With the quail I quickly became fascinated with genetics specifically involving color & what to breed for to improve egg laying, longevity, & meat production. Learning about these things involves lots of breeding which led to more access to fresh and healthy dog food & treat options for us to share with all of you!
Check out our online shop to see all our products. We offer scheduled farm picks, local delivery, & shipping. We ship quail hatching & eating eggs; dehydrated & baked dog treats; & goat milk soaps. All of our quail products are made from quail we raised, butchered, & prepared ourselves. We strive to keep our dog treats as healthy & fresh as possible so they have limited ingredients & no preservatives (except for some decorated cookies when sprinkles are requested). And our goat milk soaps are made with milk from our own goats.
